Footpath 01 (FP01)

A very easy to locate path at the end of Mere Lane. There are two signs indicating the start of this path. One on the signpost for Jacobs Way and the other is on the standard footpath signpost.

Heading in a westerly direction the path descends on a Tarmac roadway to the lake. At the bottom of the hill the path continues to the left. To the right is a permissive path which goes round the lake. To the left the path borders the lake on the right-hand side and the IROS (Informal Recreational Open Space) on the left It is a compressed man-made walkway. This passes through a “kissing gate” stile where the path becomes more natural and proceeds to the Parish Boundary. At this point the path continues over a bridge to circumnavigate the lake or turns left towards Earles Lane, Wincham.
