Footpath 02 (FP02)

Place of ending - Parish Boundary, grid ref - SJ 688 781

This footpath is accessed off Park Lane. Previously the entrance had a wooden stile which had rotted over the years and completely fell apart over the last two years. It is a requirement by law that any footpath that is accessed from a main road should have a gate such as this fitted. So I am pleased to say that this path now has a much safer entrance or exit. There are still a further four of these gates required in the parish which will hopefully be updated.

Located on the edge of the built-up area of the village heading eastward on Park Lane the path is accessed through a gap in the hedge. There is a footpath signpost indicating the direction. Heading in a northerly direction the path proceeds across an arable field leading onto a wildflower section. There is a clear path through the cropped area.
At the edge of the field there is a stile and bridge over a ditch. This is officially the end of the path in the Pickmere Parish but continues on towards Georges Lane through Millennium Wood and connects to further paths in the parish of Aston by Budworth.
